Really the stand out feature this year. Apart from the heavy eye shadow and three female priestesses who keep popping up as backing vocalists. Makes me want to check stats about how often the opening number wins. Could be something in it. But golly, I’ve just looked and it seems you’re more likely to win Eurovision if you’re later in the running order.

This lady is AMAZING. She belts it out. Passion, soul & vocal control. A clear winner. Except she doesn’t win.

Cool and funky. Could be amazing if they ramped up the raunch factor.

Award for Sheer Exuberance goes to…

No contest here. Germany. What with Joy singing her heart and German conductor Rainer Pietsch with his own brand of foot-tapping soul. Hard to capture in a still but this shows him just before he leaps into the air. And why wouldn’t you with such an excellent song?
